35 Minutes Is Not Enough

Last night in Glasgow, the First night of the Avenged Sevenfold Disturbed In Flames Arena tour  started. A late doors meant support In Flames the band I had travelled almost 3 hours to see, were forced to play a shortened set of only seven songs. Mind you kicking off with Bullet Ride isn’t a bad way to start a night of metal off. Just to add to the excitement, it was the first time I have seen In Flames without Daniel Svensson and Peter Iwers, who have left to pursue other interests. New drummer Joe Rickard  and  stand in bassist, Håkan Skoger (ex Passenger) are very capable replacements and I hope this new line up will be go on to higher and better things.

As the band were there to support in my opinion inferior bands, Anders Fridén struggled to get the crowd, apart from die hard fans on his side but as the idea was to try and recruit new fans, any exposure is good.  The set while short was a great way to show potential converts what the band are all about. Songs from the new album, Battles, The End and The Truth went down a storm and the finale, Take This Life was just perfect. All I can say is roll on Friday night in Birmingham
